Franklin, Tennessee is nestled in the heart of Williamson County about twenty miles south of Nashville, Tennessee. This town is rich in Civil War culture as we are the home of the Carnton Plantation, which played an important role during and immediately after the Battle of Franklin. The Carnton Plantation also was the setting for the New York Times Best Seller, The Widow of the South. during the American Civil War. Franklin also has several Civil War battlefields and offers the Tennessee Civil War Trail in which to follow thousands of markers in Williamson County.
